Administrative & Events Coordinator
Kayla McBride joined our team in May 2016 as the Administrative and Events Coordinator, assisting the finance office, helping with event logistics, and ensuring that The Land Trust operates as efficiently as possible day-to-day. She also helps those making inquiries through our office to get the information they are seeking or connected to the right team member.
Kayla is a native Nashvillian and graduated from Lipscomb University with a B.A. in Family Relations and Management. She has a heart for people of all ages, loves learning, and finds meaning in serving others. She grew up attending Horton Haven Christian Camp in Chapel Hill, TN, and served on staff for a couple summers in college. It’s here where she fell in love with the beauty of the outdoors. She later went on to work at Rocketown, a teen entertainment facility in Downtown Nashville, where she helped with the Garden Initiative, creating healthier meals for the youth in the coffee bar, and coordinated private events.
Kayla spends her spare time updating the home she recently inherited from her Grandmother, exploring different creative outlets, like cooking and crafting, and enjoying the outdoors. She and her boyfriend, RC, like to search for the perfect fishing spot, visit historical landmarks in the area, and get hooked on various murder mysteries books, podcasts, and shows.
What do you love about your job? I love having a direct hand in the conservation of the land I have grown to cherish so much. I fully believe that what we are doing here at The Land Trust is directly impacting the lives of the present and future generations for the better, and that makes what we do extremely important. My favorite part is learning the history of these properties we get to protect and meeting the wonderful landowners that choose to preserve the priceless beauty of nature.
