Sherwood Forest Project Earns 2017 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award

The Land Trust for Tennessee is honored to share a 2017 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award in the Natural Heritage Category with our partners at The Conservation Fund, State of Tennessee, Open Space Institute, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and many others who supported the protection of 4,000+ acres in the South Cumberland region in 2016.

This multi-year partnership resulted in the addition of thousands of acres of forestland and critical habitat to the public land areas in Franklin and Marion Counties. The Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards are considered to be the most prestigious environmental and conservation awards in the state. Congratulations to each of the nominees and recipients for your inspiring efforts across Tennessee.

Meet all of the recipients.
