Member Relations Coordinator
Brickey Nuchols joined the Land Trust for Tennessee as Member Relations Coordinator in January 2017. He is responsible for processing and acknowledging incoming payments, ensuring that donors remain connected with the Land Trust, and assisting with fundraising activities.
Brickey was born and raised in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Maryville. He holds a B.A. in History from Maryville College and an M.A. in Public History from Appalachian State University. After six years in the financial sector, Brickey decided that he wanted to reenter the nonprofit world, which prompted his move to Nashville in 2014. His past nonprofit experiences include tenures with the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Community Food Advocates, and Alignment Nashville, where he gained rich experience in a variety of tasks, particularly grant writing. He looks forward to expanding his skill set at The Land Trust and is excited to work for an organization that works to preserve the state that he loves.
In his free time, Brickey enjoys spending time outdoors in Nashville’s parks and greenways, conducting genealogical research, perusing Nashville’s record stores to expand his vinyl collection, catching up on the latest Netflix shows, and traveling.
What do you love about your job? I grew up in a “holler” in East Tennessee where my family settled nearly 200 years ago. I feel connected to this state and am passionate about its history. I am honored to be part of an organization that works to protect and preserve the hills, mountains, farms, and historic places that make Tennessee home to me.
